Pasalaya Global Supplier Code of Conduct

At Pasalaya, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of human rights, worker welfare, and ethical practices throughout our supply chain. Our Global Supplier Code of Conduct is a reflection of this commitment, and all our suppliers must adhere to it. The Code addresses several critical areas of worker welfare, and by signing Pasalaya’s supplier agreement, each supplier warrants compliance with this Code, including by their sub-suppliers.

Human Rights and Worker Welfare

Pasalaya prohibits any form of human rights abuses within our supply chain. The following practices are strictly forbidden:

  • Human trafficking
  • Physical abuse
  • Restricting freedom of movement
  • Confiscation of passports and other documentation
  • Unsafe work environments
  • Failure to pay adequate wages
  • Excessive or forced overtime
  • Illegal child labor

 Compliance and Audits

To ensure compliance with our Code, we arrange for the audit of certain facilities of selected suppliers, particularly those of private-label merchandise and suppliers whose product or country of origin poses an increased risk. These audits are conducted by independent third-party auditors who specialize in social responsibility audits. While we retain the right to conduct unannounced audits, some minimum notice is typically given to comply with security concerns and to allow the supplier to collect records for review.

Response to Violations

Despite our rigorous standards, violations of our Code may still occur. When a violation is discovered, we respond in a manner commensurate with the nature and extent of the violation:

  • Immediate remedial action, including termination of the business relationship, may be taken for severe violations.
  • In some cases, we may allow the supplier a reasonable time to develop and implement a remediation plan. Follow-up audits will be conducted to monitor progress.
  • Generally, we prefer to work with the supplier to correct Code violations rather than immediately terminating the relationship. Termination is unlikely to resolve the underlying issue and may cause further hardship to workers and their families.

However, if a supplier fails to make satisfactory progress toward improvement, Pasalaya will cease its business relationship with that supplier.

Training and Reporting

Pasalaya’s buying team members who manage supplier relationships receive continuous training, both in-person and online. The training covers the Code of Conduct and its importance to our business and to the workers who produce the merchandise we offer. We encourage anyone aware of violations of the law or our Code to notify their management or us.

Commitment to Ethical Practices

Pasalaya is committed to fostering a fair and ethical business environment. We encourage all our suppliers to adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior and to promote a culture of integrity and respect within their operations.

For any concerns or reports of Code violations, please contact us or use our designated whistleblower email: whistleblower@pasalaya.com

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, we aim to ensure the well-being of workers, the integrity of our supply chain, and the sustainability of our business relationships. Together, we can create a positive impact and uphold the values that define Pasalaya.
