Pasalaya is a heartfelt endeavor dedicated to serving the unique needs of Nepalese diaspora community. We are starting with a focus on bringing the rich art and design of Nepal on everyday items to a global audience interspersed with modern aesthetics.
Born with love in New York and Texas, our designers hail from Nepal. We partner with high quality apparel companies in US to bring our designs to life. Currently, We serve North American and Australian market.

Name and Logo
Etymology:
The name “Pasalaya” is derived from two Nepali words: “Pasal” and “-alaya.” “Pasal” is a versatile term in Nepali that refers to various types of retail shops, ranging from clothing boutiques to electronics stores. “-Alaya” translates to “abode” or “dwelling” in Sanskrit, and is commonly used in Nepali to form new words, such as “vidhyalaya” (school) or “sangrahalaya” (museum).
Logo:
Our logo is inspired by the Licchavi Coins used during the Licchavi Kingdom's rule in Nepal from around CE 576 to 750. These coins were the first widely used currency in the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding hills. Given their historical significance as the earliest form of exchange in marketplaces, we chose to incorporate them into our logo as a symbol of our connection to Nepal's rich cultural heritage.
